Open-source licenses

SFX-Trimmer is free to use; its own source code is not published. It is built with the open-source software listed below – thank you to all authors.

FFmpeg

SFX-Trimmer uses code of FFmpeg licensed under the LGPLv2.1 and its source can be downloaded here.

SFX-Trimmer runs FFmpeg as two separate programs, ffmpeg and ffprobe, which are installed next to the app. They are built from the unmodified FFmpeg 9.0.2 source code with a reduced configuration: audio decoding only, without any GPL or non-free components.

Using your own FFmpeg

You may replace the bundled FFmpeg with your own build. Either replace ffmpeg and ffprobe in the program folder (Mac: SFX-Trimmer.app/Contents/MacOS, Windows: the installation or ZIP folder), or put them into any folder and point the environment variable SFXTRIMMER_FFMPEG_DIR to it.
